Baada ya kuibuka kashfa ya mamilioni ya fedha katika akaunti yake ughaibuni Waziri wa Miundombinu , Andrew Chenge amekuwa mnyonge kupita kiasi. Mwenyewe anasema kuwa jambo hilo linakuzwa na wapinzani wake kisiasa. All in all jamaa amepooza sana hapa alikuwa mgeni rasmi katika kufunga mkutano mmoja jijini Dar es Salaam.

Three days ago when I was in London enroute to Canada I wrote about the importance of this guy (Mr. Chenge) to resign both his ministerial and member of the parliament positions. I am confident that he has done one of the two asked, and to make me have sympathy with him, I would like him under no pressure to resign the second position left, which is, his constituency post. To me -from that point we (me as mwanachi too) can cut a deal with him to have a lesser case to answer in the high court or appeal court if necessary. What we will need from him –is to offer or give a swift and vivid cooperation with all parties and prosecution side a valid information -on how he got that money in the first place. In either case if it will be revealed that he did obtain it from illegal means, then he will be required to return the money that has already been secured. We as wananchi can ask or persuade the President to pardon Mr. Chenge if he will snitch the names of other greedy citizens who were in that deal, when he was an Attorney General.
If Mr. Chenge thinks he can argue to keep the second position on the grounds that ,Bariadi wananchi were the one who elected him and they will be the one who will decide if he has to be thrown under the bus, then he will be very dead wrong. There will be no means of cutting any deal with him and therefore he will be left to answer the allegations with the high court or court of appeal and very important is either his case has to be summoned in UK where he will be found guilty. I am not sure that Tanzania court will found him guilty, because they are all the same in “Kulindana”; he (Mr. Chenge) will provide dubious documents showing stocks purchases and business profits that nobody will make a follow up of its legality and with no any balance and check he will be left free and roaming in Dar-Es-Salaam streets, like nothing did happen to him at first place. If you don’t believe my words then read today’s IPP media on the comment that Mr. Venance Ngula the then deputy Finance Minister said about Mr. Chenge, which to me shows it was chain of many dignitary people who were involved in this deal. Mr. Venance went on saying that “nothing can be done by wananchi concerning this issue”. To me this shows that’s the reason despite all “makelele” from wananchi not to buy this radar at the first place the government and its officials went all the way and bought it anyway. The perfect place that will conduct this case fairly will be UK, I have read the Tanzania law concerning this and Mr. Chenge can face British court if Tanzania prosecutors can obtain a permit to file this case overseas. I am sure like any smart guys, him being a former AG, will hire the best lawyers in town and eventually win this case if conducted in Tanzania and with the help of former Judges whom many he helped appoint, will pay back the favor.
I wonder why Mr. Chenge who is catholic and a former seminarian at Makoko and Nyegezi seminaries, with a first degree from UDSM and a Harvard graduate degree ,who also once happened to be a highly respected leader changed to be one among the arrogant leaders that our country now have. I am astonished why at least he would not follow the “nyayo” of Judge Warioba, who at least is saying loudly something -about what is going on in the country - and is now engaging in business that can allow him to have or put money anywhere and “at least clean” money. I remember some days back when I was in Tanzania Mr. Chenge was once quoted and said to Prof Lamwai that although “he (Mr. Chenge) does not have a PHD/JD in law like Dr. Lamwai, his (Chenge) LLM degree from Harvard University is greater that any PHD/JD offered by UDSM. To me the way I see, that was an insult and with addition of “vijisenti” comments it’s like adding a fire
My advice to Chenge and all others who hold public and high offices- it’s now time to come clean and show to us how honest and truth you guys are. Concerning, the money and businesses that both of you operate or hold locally and offshore, we need to see within an open format either at official Government gazette or at other channels how much ya, all worth. Please, do me a favor; resign the Member of the parliament position of Bariadi west, and that will send a clear message or signal to Lowassa, Msabaha, Karamagi, Mramba, and Yona to follow the suit and do the same.
